About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Tailoring and Design Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training in fashion design, garment construction, and tailoring techniques, while inspiring students to develop practical and creative skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures and practical lessons in tailoring and fashion design
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and training materials
- Teach garment construction, pattern drafting, textile selection, and finishing techniques
- Assess student performance through assignments, practicals, and examinations
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students on projects and career development
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure safety standards are upheld
- Keep up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Tailoring, or a related field
- Teaching Methodology is an added advantage
- Minimum of 2–3 years teaching or industry experience in tailoring/design
- Strong practical skills in garment construction and pattern making
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse students and manage a classroom/workshop
- TEVETA Accreditation
