Nkhwazi Primary School is a highly acclaimed school with population of 720 learners, with a maximum teacher pupil ratio of 30:1. It’s secure, custom built, 10 Hectares campus is located in the central area of Lusaka, with modern sports facilities and a multipurpose hall. The school was founded in 1971 and follows an Anglo-Zambian syllabus. This high performing school has achieved excellent results at Grade 7 level and has consistently been ranked in the top 10 in the country over the past 25 years.
The School seeks for passionate and dedicated primary school teachers to join our team and contribute to the academic and personal development of our pupils.
Responsibilities or duties
- To work under the daily guidance of a class teacher providing basic professional instructions and training to lower primary learners in order to improve and develop social habits, hygiene, basic learning, oral language and common courtesies.
- To assist the Class Teacher in the practical organisation and supervision of all aspects of classroom life in order to facilitate learning including but not limited to display of work, craft materials and care of equipment and books.
- Be aware of demands pertaining to the social, physical and emotional needs of the learners.
- Maintain an ongoing feedback system by preparing a weekly record of work and compiling elementary clerical records as required by Superiors.
- To supervise and control the movement of children within or outside the school premises as per school regulations and assist with excursions, playground duties, etc.
- To assist with extra-curricular activities and participate in functions organized by the school and PTA.
- To cover assigned classes during emergency situations and to work as required by the Head of School, performing duties appropriate to the needs of lower primary section and the school.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent.
- BA Education Primary Degree from a recognized University or College of Education.
- All professional and academic qualifications MUST be verified with Zambia Qualifications Authority, ZAQA.
- Must be Computer Literate. Using Smart Board or an equivalent system will be an added advantage.
- Have an intrinsic knowledge of the Zambian Curriculum.
Experience needed
- At least 3 years of primary teaching experience at a private school
- Member of the Teaching Council of Zambia (2026 practicing certificate to be attached to the application letter).
- Experience in an ISAZ Community will be added advantage.
