JOB PURPOSE
The job holder will be responsible for preparing and delivering structured and differentiated lessons in Mathematics. The position holder will be expected to develop learners’ numerical fluency, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and to promote confidence and competence in Mathematics in line with both Cambridge and Zambian curriculum requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Mathematics lessons
- Apply structured and step-by-step instructional approaches to complex concepts
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to support conceptual understanding and problem-solving
- Assess, track and report on student performance, providing timely interventions
- Identify and address learning gaps effectively
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and resource design
- Support enrichment programmes such as mathematics clubs or competitions
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and pastoral staff

Preferred Academic and Professional Qualifications for All Positions Knowledge / Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience
- Strong subject mastery across core Mathematics strands
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse learners
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Ability to reduce mathematics anxiety and build learner confidence
- Data-driven approach to student assessment and improvement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and accountability
- Flexible and adaptable to changing institutional needs
- Must be computer literate
