Job Summary
• The technician will be responsible for carrying out diagnosis, checking, repairing overhauling, troubleshooting and maintenance of such equipment as tractors, combine harvesters and other farm machinery and motor vehicles.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Reassemble machine and equipment following repair, testing and making adjustments as necessary.
• Repair defective engines or engine components and service machines to maintain functionality.
• Dismantle defective machines for repair using hand tools.
• Clean equipment parts or tools to repair or maintain in good working order.
• Keep the working environment clean and healthy.
• Inspect tractors, combine harvesters or motor vehicle engines and mechanical components to diagnose issues accurately and effectively.
• Conducting routine maintenance procedures as established.
• Repair/replace broken or dysfunctional parts.
• Document and submit daily equipment inspections to supervisor.
• Carry out any duties as may be assigned/delegated.

Health and Safety Procedures
• Assess on a regular basis activities conducted, to identify any significant hazards.
• Devise an action plan designed to control hazards.
• Maintain records of all actions undertaken.
• Record all injuries, events and incidents.
• Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment provided is worn at all times during working hours as appropriate and is in good order.
• Notify your supervisor of any accident and/or incident in your working area immediately.
• Adhere to Company health and safety policy.

Qualifications and Experience
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Craft Certificate or better in Automotive Mechanics/Technician in Automotive Mechanics/Agricultural Mechanics or its equivalent.
• Any auto electrical qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced vehicle workshop environment.
• Good operational acumen, attitude and expertise with ability to anticipate, interpret and respond to all data for documentation (electronic or manual).
• Strong data analysis skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and working knowledge.
• Ability to work in a busy and deadline-driven operating environment.
• Ability to handle self-managed workload and work with minimum supervision.
• Details-oriented with the technical aptitude and ability to perform accurately and comprehensively.
• Results-oriented, with inclination to timely action and great passion for excellence.
• Ability to establish, maintain and nurture effective relationships with internal and external clientele at all levels.
• Should be a team player.
• Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
