JOB DETAILS:

This position reports to the Assistant Asset Care Manager. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, inspecting, and storing new tools and equipment.
• Conducting regular physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
• Issuing tools and materials to maintenance staff and tracking their usage.
• Maintaining detailed records of all tool stock and locations.
• Performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
•   Scheduling and coordinating with external vendors for major repairs or services.
• Dismantling and replacing defective parts using hand or power tools.
• Ensuring all tools are maintained in good, working order.
• Enforcing safety protocols for tool handling and storage.
•   Conducting periodic safety inspections and ensuring tools meet safety standards.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment.
• Operating a tool check-out system to monitor tool distribution.
• Maintaining detailed records on tool usage, maintenance, and repairs.
• Using computer systems to manage inventory and create work orders or purchase requests.
• Reporting damaged items, shortages, and other discrepancies to supervisors

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience. 

•    A full Grade 12 certificate, often with credits in English and Mathematics, is a common minimum requirement.
• Certificate or  Diploma in Stores Management, from a recognized institution in stores or warehouse management is frequently preferred.
  2 years of experience, particularly in the engineering and manufacturing.
• Prior experience with inventory control and stock management systems is a strong asset.
• Skills in inventory management software and basic office software are necessary.
• Strong attention to detail, the ability to organize records, and good analytical abilities to manage stock.
• Effective oral and written communication is important for reporting and interacting with suppliers.
• The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy items, is often a requirement.
• Familiarity with engineering materials, tools, and equipment is a plus..
