Job purpose

Technician – Beverage Division is responsible for overseeing all maintenance aspects of UHT-packed beverage processing, blending, and aseptic filling operations & Maintenance. This role ensures efficient plant operations while maintaining high standards of quality assurance, maintenance, and compliance with food safety regulations. The Technician will lead his teams, optimize Equipment efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in production and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Equipment’s to be Handled :- Tetra A3 Flex 300 V with DIMC cap, Helix Cap Applicator, Card Board Packer, UHT Poly Pack (ESL), Sterilliser, Homogenizer, Pumps, Motors, PHE etc.

1. Operation of UHT Equipment’s

• Monitor the Filling Process, Set-Up and Adjustments, Machine Start-Up and Shut-Down

2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on filling machines, including cleaning, lubricating parts, replacing filters, and inspecting valves, seals, and nozzles. Replace worn out parts.
• Quickly identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or operational issues (e.g., blocked nozzles, machine jams, leakage, filling inaccuracies).
• Perform in-house repairs or coordinate with other teams (e.g., engineers) to address complex issues.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the UHT filling machines remain in good working condition.
• Spares & Consumables requirement planning.

3. Quality Control and Hygiene Compliance

• Filling Consistency, Sterility Assurance, Regular Inspecting FG
• Clean-In-Place (CIP) Systems, Cleanliness, Sterilization Verification

4. Data Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor Process & Filling machine Parameters, document any machine performance issues, maintenance activities

5. Collaboration with Other Teams

• Work with Operators, Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering, Train new operators and technicians on machine operation, safety protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with production teams, maintenance, and other stakeholders.
• Follow Safety Protocols, Machine Safety Checks.
• Work with the production team to optimize the filling process, aiming to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Suggest improvements to the filling process, such as better filling methods, automation upgrades, or faster cleaning procedures.
• Ensure all required Utilities (Air/Water/Power/DG etc) are operational.

6. Experience and Skills Required

• Understanding of mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, conveyors, valves, nozzles) and their maintenance.
• Familiarity with the key components of the A3 Flex machine and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical failures.
• Basic electrical schematics reading and troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, sensors, and drives.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as the A3 Flex may use these systems for some of its operations.
• Familiarity with machine control interfaces and troubleshooting errors or malfunctions related to automated systems.
• Ability to spot even minor issues before they become major problems.
• Regular inspections of parts such as nozzles, seals, and capping mechanisms are essential for optimal performance

Key Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Mechanical/Electrical field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in UHT food or beverage manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of UHT processing, blending, and aseptic filling technologies.

Preferred:

Experience with TPM, 5S, Kaizen

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
