Background

PAN, in partnership with Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) and Transparency International Zambia (TIZ), is implementing a three-year EU funded grant (Jan 2026 – Dec 2028) to strengthen civil society and citizen participation in promoting transparent, inclusive, accountable and equitable land governance in Zambia. The project is being implemented in Kalumbila, Mufumbwe, Mkushi, Serenje, Mansa and Kawambwa districts.

Key Responsibilities

• Legal Literacy: Conduct community awareness campaigns on land rights, environmental justice, and equality.
• Grievance Support: Facilitate local grievance redress mechanisms and alternative dispute resolution pathways.
• Case Documentation: Document local land rights and environmental rights violations related to with strategic legal support.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Engage with traditional authorities, local government institutions, and vulnerable groups to ensure their participation in land governance.
• Provide support to the Community Land Advocacy Committee (CLAC) and the Study Circle Group.

Requirements

• Residency: Certified permanent resident of one of the six targeted districts.
• Education: A TEVETA-recognized Level III Paralegal Certificate.
• Languages: Fluency in local language spoken in your chosen district.
• Values: Strong commitment to human rights, social accountability, transparency, and gender equality.
