Olibul Investments Limited operates a large-scale state of art multi sand products quarry in North-western province and undertakes multi-disciplinary engineering and other project works in support of the Government building and road construction sector and international mining and construction industries.
Olibul Investments Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced members of the Zambian public for the following vacant position:
WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR – HEAVY (DUTY TRUCK) VEHICLE REPAIR (1)
Purpose:
To supervise and carry out skilled and planned/proactive Heavy Duty Truck Vehicle repair, routine maintenance, and rehabilitation work activities in order to ensure mobile equipment availability within time and budgetary limits.
Main duties:
(a) Draws work assignments based upon an evaluation of job requirements and individual expertise and supervises general maintenance mechanics in the performance of emergency and routine maintenance on mobile equipment and systems.
(b) Performs highly skilled mechanical maintenance work (as required) in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of mobile equipment and provides an estimate of repair (and/or replacement) costs.
(C) Assures completion of assigned maintenance and repair tasks by monitoring work progress, inspecting work performance and providing corrections of any deficiencies as necessary, redirecting work efforts to meet critical and/or necessary work requirements.
(d) Conducts training, staff development, coaching and counseling sessions in the proper use of equipment, tools, and plant safety, and demonstrating appropriate work methods.
(e) Provides technical assistance in the purchase of new or replacement mechanical maintenance equipment or systems by reviewing and preparing equipment specifications, and advising on equipment capability and compatibility, installation requirements and costs, and potential operations and maintenance expenses.
(f) Assists with documenting the cost of maintenance repairs and services by keeping records of time and materials to be charged to each job and providing periodic status reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Certificate/Diploma in Heavy Equipment repair (HER) or its equivalent
- 5 years’ work experience in relevant field
- Experience with maintenance of Heavy Duty Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Scania, Weichai, Renault, Dongfeng, Deutz and Cummins engines will be an added advantage
- Excellent computer system-based vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills
