Yard Superintendent
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Overseeing daily operations within a yard, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- Directing and coordinating the activities of yard staff, including laborers, machine operators, and other personnel.
- Conducting regular security inspections of the yard and equipment.
- Ensuring that the staff adhere to security regulations and company policies regarding security and compliance.
- Developing and implementing processes to improve security efficiency within the yard.
- May be required to perform other general duties as needed.
Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:
- Leadership and Team Management: The ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively is essential
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed for interacting with staff, other departments, and potentially clients or suppliers.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: The ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure is important.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain an organized yard are critical.
- Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for yard operations is essential
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Certificate in Security and Compliance or any related field.
- Physical Exam Required: Medical Report & Police Clearance
Desired Start Date: 8th July, 2025
Include overseeing security personnel, developing security protocols, and conducting regular safety audits will monitor daily activities and make sure that all security staff adhere to policies and procedures. Additional duties involve coordinating response efforts during emergencies, such as evacuation procedures or alarm responses. Maintain accurate records of incidents and security logs, enabling timely reporting and analysis. regular training sessions for team members are vital to keep everyone informed about the latest security measures. Need to collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services, fostering a network of support. Essential Functions: Ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of control center systems and equipment. Monitoring real-time operations, system dashboards, and network traffic patterns. Identifying potential security threats or performance bottlenecks and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks. Effectively communicating with internal teams, external partners, and other stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. Responding to and managing emergency situations, including coordinating with relevant teams and stakeholders. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining a secure workplace by enforcing security policies and procedures. Conducting regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Additionally, you oversee security operations during emergency situations, responding effectively to incidents like theft or vandalism. Collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency services may be required to handle significant security incidents. You will implement and review security protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Strong leadership and communication abilities are essential for effective team management. should also possess a keen eye for detail and the capacity to assess security risks. A background in law enforcement or security management can enhance your candidacy. familiarity with surveillance systems, access control, and emergency response planning is often required Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) can be beneficial. Proficiency in report writing and have a solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations. Ability to remain composed under pressure and make quick decisions is crucial. Physical Exam Required: Medical Report & Police Clearance
Preferred: University Degree in Computer any computer science related field Master’s Degree – is an Added Advantage Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems is crucial for the protection of assets and personnel.
