We are currently hiring native and fluent language speakers for our ASR Speech Interactions Project, which focuses on supporting the development and evaluation of AI-powered Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems.

We have the following freelance opportunities available:

1. Audio Recorder

Key Responsibilities:

• Record audio in the assigned language using provided prompts.
• Maintain clear pronunciation, natural speech, and appropriate pacing.
• Follow recording guidelines and quality standards.
• Ensure recordings are completed in a quiet environment.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Native or fluent proficiency in the target language.
• Versant English proficiency level of B2 or above.
• Stable internet connection and a suitable recording environment.
• Previous audio recording experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

2. Transcriber / Linguist

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately transcribe and review audio recordings.
• Correct transcripts while maintaining linguistic accuracy.
• Identify dialectal expressions and language-specific nuances.
• Follow transcription guidelines and quality standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Native or advanced proficiency in the target language.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistics, Language Studies, Translation, Literature, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in transcription, translation, proofreading, or linguistic work is preferred.
• Versant English proficiency level of B2 or above.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Assessment Process

Candidates will be required to complete two assessments:

iCAP Assessment: One role-specific assessment based on the selected position (Audio Recording or Transcription).

Versant English Assessment: Candidates who successfully complete the iCAP assessment will proceed to the Versant English proficiency test. The required proficiency level is B2 or above.
