Background

July Express Cargo Limited, a fast-growing shipping and logistics company in Zambia, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer (BDO) to drive growth, partnerships, and revenue expansion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and secure new corporate clients for air & sea freight services
• Develop and execute sales and business growth strategies
• Build strong relationships with importers, exporters, and agents
• Support digital marketing and promotional campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team
• Work closely with Operations & Customer Service teams to ensure smooth client handling
• Achieve monthly sales and revenue targets.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation and Incoterms (International Commercial Terms)
• Ability to interpret and explain import/export shipping processes to clients
• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (added advantage)
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills
• Target-driven, proactive, and able to work under pressure
• Knowledge of air and sea freight operations is an added advantage
• Must have personal laptop with Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic AI tools knowledge

REMUNERATION:

• Competitive basic salary + attractive performance-based commission
