EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF A 7.5MW (AC) ON-GRID SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) POWER PLANT LOCATED IN KASUPE, LUSAKA WEST, LUSAKA PROVINCE OF ZAMBIA - ZESCO/EOI/011/2024
ZESCO Limited is a power utility owned by the Goverment of the Republic of Zambia that supplies electricity and energy solutions within Zambia and the Sub-Saharan region. As a service provider, ZESCO has a passionate team of diverse professionals working throughout the country committed to delivering services, efficiently and effectively in the quest to attain excellence. ZESCO's operations cut across the electricity value chain being generation, transmission, distribution, and supply. The Corporation owns and operates several hydropower stations with a combined power-generating capacity currently more than 2,900 Megawatts.
ZESCO has embarked on a drive to harness renewable sources of energy to achieve diversification and enhance the energy mix. To accelerate development, ZESCO Limited proposes to develop smaller-sized distributed solar PV plants.
A 7.5MW Solar PV plant is proposed to be Located at the ZESCO Central Bulk Stores in Kasupe. ZESCO Limited owns 35 hectares of unused land at Kasupe which is proposed to be utilized for the development of renewable energy projects.
Kasupe is located in the western part of Lusaka district in Zambia and is approximately 20km from Lusaka Central Business District. Kasupe lies at an altitude of 1157m above sea level with a good average daily global horizontal irradiation of 5.78 kWh/m2/day, and daily average temperatures favourable for solar PV generation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THE APPLICANT
ZESCO Limited now invites Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies to express interest in the development of a 7.5MW (AC) on-grid photovoltaic (PV) plant to be located at Kasupe, in Lusaka West, Lusaka, Zambia.
Interested applicants should submit the following:
a) Detailed company profile and the number of years of experience for the firm in undertaking assignments of a similar nature and magnitude envisaged under this expression of interest within the last 10 years;
b) Applicant must demonstrate that it has - a minimum Tangible Net Worth of USD 15 million (or currency equivalent) in each of the three (3) most recently completed fiscal years as evidenced by audited accounts of the applicant.
c) Applicant shall submit its audited financial statements for the last three (3) most recent financial years.
d) Evidence of compliance of matters of taxation in the country of operation.
e) Documentation relating to company registration of the business. Applicants are also required to submit information showing the beneficial owners of the company as evidenced by relevant company registration documents.
f) Litigation status of Company.

HOWEVER, TELEFAX OFFERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The Expressions of Interest shall be opened immediately thereafter in the Boardroom of the Procurement Division in the presence of applicants or their representatives who choose to attend.
