JOB OPPORTUNITY – HEAD CHEF
We are seeking seeking to recruit a highly skilled, experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and uphold the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, creativity and customer satisfaction. We are looking for a professional individual with strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary expertise and the capability to manage a fast-paced kitchen environment effectively.
Position: Head Chef
Job Purpose:
The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the overall kitchen operations, supervising kitchen staff, ensuring exceptional food preparation and presentation, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the growth and reputation of the establishment through quality culinary service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all kitchen operations efficiently and professionally
- Plan, prepare and oversee high-quality meals and menu development
- Supervise, train and motivate kitchen staff to achieve excellent performance
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste and presentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
- Monitor stock levels, food costs and kitchen inventory
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products and kitchen equipment
- Work closely with management to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Maintain discipline, teamwork and professionalism within the kitchen department
- Ensure compliance with company policies and hospitality industry standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management or any related field
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a professional kitchen environment
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role will be an added advantage
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation and kitchen management procedures
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, lodges or catering institutions is highly desirable
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity and innovation in menu planning and food presentation
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High level of discipline, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
