PARTNERSHIPS AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS MANAGER

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) Zambia is expanding its engagement with government institutions, donors, private sector actors, academic institutions, and diplomatic missions. This position offers an opportunity to play a central role in shaping and strengthening CCR’s external partnerships, increasing organisational visibility, and supporting strategic growth of innovative development programmes in Zambia.

The Strategic Partnerships and External Engagement Manager will work closely with senior management and programme team, contributing to high-level engagement, partnership development, and positioning of CCR as a trusted and credible partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain strategic relationships with government institutions, donors, diplomatic missions, private sector actors, and academic partners.
  • Proactively identify and pursue partnership opportunities, including technical cooperation, co-financing, and public–private partnerships.
  • Represent Caritas Czech Republic in outward-facing communications and engagements.
  • Support preparation, negotiation, and follow-up of partnership agreements, MoUs, and collaboration frameworks.
  • Prepare briefing notes, talking points, presentations, and background materials for senior management.
  • Coordinate with programme and technical teams to ensure coherence between external engagement and project implementation.
  • Monitor donor priorities, policy developments, and partnership trends relevant to CCR’s portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Background or degree in SME development, agriculture, climate change related field strong advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in external relations, partnership management, donor liaison, or business development.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders across public, private, and diplomatic sectors.
  • Strong communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with international NGOs, development programmes, or donor-funded projects is an asset.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.

Duty station: Lusaka Main Office, Lusaka, Zambia

Position type: Full-time, Fixed-Term contract (with possibility of extension)

Duration: February – December 2026
