About the role:

The regional service technician will provide field-based technical help for Sun King inverter systems and other solar products within an assigned region. The role will strengthen local technical capacity by training freelance installers, helping sales teams, and ensuring fast and effective aftersales service delivery. The technician will serve as a key link between the field and the central service team, reporting performance, costs, and customer insights in real time.

What you would be expected to do:

Customer Service & Delivery

  • Provide timely installation and aftersales servicing for inverter systems and other Sun King products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, replacements, and corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure turnaround time targets are met for installations and service cases.

Installer Training & Capacity Building

  • Train freelance installers on installation standards, safety procedures, product knowledge, and troubleshooting.
  • Build capacity and motivate regional installers to maintain quality service standards.
  • Conduct technical assessments to ensure installer compliance with company guidelines.

Sales Team Technical Help

  • Train sales teams on system sizing, correct product pitching, and technical accuracy.
  • Assist with load-sizing assessments for prospective customers.
  • Provide technical insights during AHQ meetings and other commercial engagements when required.

Field Surveys & Data Reporting

  • Conduct product performance surveys, installation audits, and customer experience assessments when instructed.
  • Provide regular reports on service interventions, installer performance, regional issues, costs, and parts usage.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of parts replaced, time spent, and root-cause diagnosis.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain yearly EIZ certification and alignment with ERB compliance regulations.
  • Ensure all installation works meet national electrical and engineering standards.

You might be a strong candidate if you:

  • Minimum 1 year in the solar industry (installation, servicing, technical assistance)
  • Diploma in Electrical or any relevant qualifications in renewable energy (EIZ)
  • Must reside in assigned region and travel within the region

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent communication and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to train and mentor technicians and installers
  • Experience with inverter systems (hybrid, off-grid + batteries)
  • Ability to analyze loads and perform system sizing accurately
  • Organized, proactive, and performance-driven
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Added Advantage

  • Experience using CRM/service management tools
  • Experience with battery diagnostics and lithium systems
  • Motorbike or vehicle license
