JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a competent and experienced Works Supervisor to oversee and coordinate construction activities on site. The ideal candidate must be a multi-skilled professional capable of bridging the gap between technical engineering requirements and practical site execution. This role requires a hands-on individual who can perform engineering tasks, conduct surveying, and effectively supervise teams as a Senior Foreman.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Supervision & Foreman Duties:
- Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
- Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and the construction schedule.
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.
Engineering & Technical Duties:
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide the construction process.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure materials and workmanship meet the required engineering standards.
- Prepare daily site reports, progress charts, and work programs.
Surveying:
- Perform topographical surveys, setting out, and leveling using modern surveying equipment (e.g., Total Stations, GPS, Dumpy Levels).
- Take precise measurements for quantification and verification of completed works.
Cross-Sector Coordination:
- Apply broad construction knowledge to manage works across different sectors, including roadworks (earthworks, drainage, surfacing) and building projects (structural, finishing, MEP coordination).
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field. A Degree is an added advantage. Trade certification with extensive supervisory experience will also be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
Multi-Sector Knowledge: Demonstrated experience working on both Road/Infrastructure projects and Building/Structural projects is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in surveying and setting out (essential).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic project management software.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
- Willingness to work in the field and travel to various project sites.
