JOB DETAILS:
The University of Lusaka is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Registered Renal Nurse and Radiographer at the University of Lusaka Hospital. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to providing quality patient care, have excellent clinical skills and are committed to making a positive impact on healthcare.

Summary of Job Responsibilities
• Delivering high quality and compassionate patient care.
• Ensuring adherence to standard operating policies and procedures relating to renal nursing, infection prevention and control.
• Ensuring patients are fully informed about risks and benefits of dialysis.
• Providing timely and skilled assistance to the Renal team rotating through roles such as triage and recovery nurse as required.
• Ensuring preparation of all necessary complex instruments and equipment before dialysis commences.
• Acting as a link between the dialysis team and other sections of the hospital by maintaining effective communication with the patients, caregivers and the dialysis team.
• Offering care and support to patients upon arrival in the renal unit until they recover from the effects of the dialysis.
• Assessing the patients to ensure they can be discharged.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, one must have the following qualifications;
• Full Grade Twelve Certificate.
• Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, fully registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia with current practicing license.
• Must have training in Renal Nursing from a recognized institution with experience in Renal Nursing.
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience

• Self-motivated and resourceful with strong intellectual ability.
• Highly organized, flexible and able to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and be able to concentrate for long periods of time.
• Ability to stand for long periods and react quickly in an emergency within a confined space.
• Should be a goal getter and a team player.
