JOB PURPOSE

UNO Energies Zambia Limited is looking for an Accountant to join the team.

The Successful candidate will oversee daily financial operations, manage financial reporting and ensure accurate record-keeping related to the company's operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.
• Payroll Administration and Verification
• Oversee invoice processing, payments, and receipts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and completed on time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to provide financial guidance, resolve discrepancies, and support operational decision-making.
• Assist in the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of financial systems, procedures and internal controls.
• Support external audit processes by preparing required documentation, addressing audit queries and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
• Ensure accurate data reporting in line with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Manage and process statutory payments i.e. VAT & Withholding Tax,NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting package. Knowledge of TALLY system will be an added advantage.
• Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Analytical skills
• Understanding of Accounting principles

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 credits.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience preferably in the OMC Industry.
• Must be a member of ZICA
• Strong knowledge of Zambian tax laws
