JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Location: Ndola, Zambia
Job Type: Permanent
Reports To: General Manager
Kemcore Zambia Ltd., a leader in the manufacture of synthetic gypsum and industrial chemical solutions, is looking for a qualified and experienced Admin Human Resources Officer (ADHRO) to join its team in Ndola. This role is key to ensuring the efficient management of our human capital and administrative support systems in line with best practices and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human resources operations, labor law, payroll systems, immigration procedures, and organizational administration. The ADHRO will play a central role in HR operations while contributing to company strategy, compliance, and a positive organizational culture.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resource Management & Compliance
- Implement and maintain effective HR systems and procedures (using Sage Pastel Payroll).
- Ensure compliance with Zambian labor laws, statutory obligations, and HR best practices.
- Develop and regularly update HR policies, procedures, terms of employment, job grades, compensation structures, and disciplinary procedures.
- Manage expatriate work permits and visa renewals, and coordinate with immigration authorities.
- Maintain updated organograms, staff lists, and HR documentation. Payroll & Statutory Responsibilities
- Prepare and process monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
- Oversee time and attendance tracking and leave management.
- Ensure up-to-date employee bio-data and secure personnel files.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Assess staffing needs and coordinate the recruitment and selection process.
- Draft job descriptions, coordinate interviews, and ensure proper onboarding and exit processes.
- Develop and implement a fair, structured, and transparent recruitment system.
Performance & Staff Development
- Coordinate performance appraisal systems and support line managers with performance improvement processes.
- Identify training needs and ensure induction, coaching, and professional development are in place.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and ethical behavior in the workplace.
Administration & Support Functions
- Support administrative processes across departments.
- Contribute to budget planning related to staffing, training, and HR operations.
- Provide regular HR reports, workforce analytics, and strategic insights to management.
- Promote employee well-being, team morale, and a healthy work-life balance culture.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or degree in human resources management, public administration, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR management, with at least 2 years in administration.
- Registered Associate Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) with a valid practicing license.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, especially Sage Pastel Payroll.
- Sound knowledge of Zambian labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Solid understanding of job grading systems, including Patterson Job Evaluation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking capacity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage priorities, and work independently.
