Zambia Airports Corporation Limited is a reputable Aviation Organization with a vision to provide World Class and diversified Airport and Air navigation business at the four designated international airports in Zambia namely, Kenneth Kaunda in Lusaka, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula in Livingstone and Mfuwe and Ten (10) provincial and strategic aerodromes. • AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL ASSISTANT

The job holder is responsible for assisting the Air Traffic Control Officer to manage, all Air Traffic Services data for all air traffic operating within the Lusaka Flight Information Region.

Key Performance Areas

• Coordinate aircraft movements between Air Traffic Services units and other airport operating units by passing, receiving and updating flight-related data.
• Prepare and update flight progress strips in order to assist the Air Traffic Controller manage air traffic efficiently.
• Receive and dispatch all ATS messages. Record aircraft movements on the log sheets.
• Receive in-coming phone calls and send out going phone calls on behalf of the Air Traffic Controller and immediately refer calls of distress nature to his superior
• File all processed aircraft movement log sheets, flight progress strips and flight plans for future reference.
• Broadcast Meteorological Information (METAR/SPECI) NOTAMS and all relevant notices/information using Aerodrome Traffic Information System (ATIS).
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification

• Grade 12 with full School Certificate or G.C.E ‘O’ Level with a minimum of five (credit) or better which must include English language, Mathematics Geography and one Science subject.
• Aerodrome, Approach or Area Control Certificate.
• University Degree in Business, Engineering and Management related fields will be an added advantage.
