The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all business operations within the assigned area, ensuring achievement of sales targets, effective coordination with the stock team and a consistent customer experience across all locations under their responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Development

Ø Achieve sales targets across branches.

Ø Identify underperforming branches and initiate corrective action plans.

Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives and key stake holders.

Ø Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer needs.

2. Operational Management

Ø Coordinate the distribution and availability of agricultural inputs across all assigned outlets.

Ø Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.

Ø Ensure proper storage and handling of agricultural products.

Ø Oversee logistics and product deliveries.

3. Staff Supervision

Ø Supervise branch staff and ensure that they lead their teams effectively.

Ø Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance.

Ø Provide guidance and support to ensure achievement of business objectives.

4. Stock coordination

Ø Ensure branches place timely restock requests.

Ø Confirm goods request match delivery documents

Ø Report low, excess and slow-moving stock.

Ø Support physical stock counts and cycle checks.

5. Financial and Administrative Duties

Ø Monitor sales performance and cash collections.

Ø Ensure compliance with company financial procedures.

Ø Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Ø Assist management in tracking seasonal business performance.

6. Compliance and Safety

Ø Ensure compliance with company policies and agricultural regulations.

Ø Promote safe handling, storage, and transportation of agricultural products.

Ø Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.

Skills and Competencies

Ø Good leadership and supervisory skills.

Ø Strong sales and customer service orientation.

Ø Knowledge of agricultural inputs and farming practices.

Ø Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ø Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Ø Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

Qualifications and Experience

Ø Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Agriculture, Agro business, Business Administration or a related field.

Ø Minimum of 2 years' experience in agricultural sales, agribusiness operations, or a related field.

Ø Supervisory and electronic voucher FISP experience will be an added advantage.

Ø Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ø Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Ø Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
