JOB DETAILS:
Job description:
To provide accurate and reliable analytical data on all routine and non –routine samples.

Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Conduct routine analysis of copper concentrate shipments
• Prepare and standardize reagents.
• Analyze special samples
• Analysis of QA/QC samples
• Analysis of Anode and Cathode samples by Spark OES
• Read samples on all instruments (AAS, XRF, ICP etc.)
• Analysis of mining samples
• Analyze gold plant samples (bullion, tails etc.)
• Analyze weekly Organic samples from Solvent extraction (SX)
• Perform any other work as instructed by the superiors

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate/Diploma in laboratory science technology
• Degree will be an added advantage

Experience
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a mining environment

Operational Requirements
• Exposure to Dust/Heat/Noise
• Standby and overtime work when required
• Computer Literate
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: Associate Degree
