Role Overview:
Spectrum Credit Limited is seeking an Asset Recovery Officer responsible for physically locating, repossessing, and recovering collateral assets (motor vehicles) under Asset Secured Lending and other secured facilities. The role ensures assets are recovered within the approved turnaround time (TAT), handled lawfully and safely, inspected thoroughly, and reported accurately in line with company policy and regulatory requirements to minimize losses.
Location/ Branches:
Solwezi, Copperbelt, and Lusaka
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and execute approved repossession orders within required turnaround times.
- Physically locate, secure, and repossess motor vehicles in default in line with company procedures and applicable laws.
- Liaise with tracking companies, investigators, and internal teams to obtain accurate asset location data.
- Conduct full on-site repossession checklists, including condition assessment, verification, and documentation.
- Complete a second comprehensive checklist upon delivery of repossessed assets to storage yards.
- Professionally engage customers on-site, communicate arrears, and facilitate account regularization where applicable.
- Safely transport and hand over repossessed vehicles to approved yards with proper documentation.
- Update repossession progress in systems and provide timely status reports.
- Prepare and submit repossession reports, including daily updates and incident reports.
- Report disputes, damages, or incidents encountered during repossession and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Competencies
- Certificate or Diploma in Business, Finance, Management, or related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in Asset Recovery, Repossessions, or Field Collections.
- Strong problem-solving ability, communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical ability and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in reporting and sound product knowledge.
- Technical proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of asset secured lending products.
- Adequate knowledge of internal systems and repossession procedures
- Knowledge of asset inspection, checklist completion, and documentation standards
- Valid driver’s license.
