Job purpose
To provide administrative support to the department, assist with routine HR functions, coordinate maintenance matters, and supervise cleaning staff to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide general administrative and clerical support within the Human Resource and Administration Department.
- Ensure that all maintenance-related issues within the University are promptly reported and followed up.
- Coordinate maintenance matters and liaise with service providers.
- Supervise cleaning staff and ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained across University facilities.
- Supervise the external cleaning services providers.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies to ensure availability at all times.
- Support compliance with health and safety requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Grade Twelve Certificate or equivalent with five (5) O-Level credits or better.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of human resource management procedures and administrative processes.
- Work experience or exposure in the supervision of cleaning or maintenance crews in a cleaning service company, factory, or higher learning institution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.

- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
