Background
The Judiciary is an independent arm of Government established under part VIII of the Constitution (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016. Its mission is "To administer justice to all in an independent, impartial, competent and timely manner".
In order to improve service delivery, the Judiciary in Southern Province intends to fill the vacant positions indicated below.
ASSISTANT COURT CLERK – JSS 03
4 Positions
Annual Basic Salary: K71,443.58
Stations
- Mazabuka Local Court
- Chilyabufu Local Court, Itezhi-Tezhi District
- Muwezwa Local Court, Itezhi-Tezhi District
- Singani Local Court, Choma District
Key Responsibilities
- Record court proceedings accurately.
- Prepare court returns and cause lists.
- Store and present court exhibits appropriately.
- Prepare documentation required for appeals.
- Conduct interviews with potential litigants.
- Receive and receipt court fees.
- Ensure timely banking of collected fees.
- Prepare and maintain books of accounts.
- Maintain accurate court records and documentation.
- Perform other duties assigned by the relevant court authority.
Qualifications & Skills
- Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O-Level credits or better, including English.
- Computer literacy.
- Good transcription skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Integrity and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of a local language.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Good communication skills.
