Huachen International Supply Chain Limited is seeking to employ an Assistant Electrical Engineer in the Construction Department to join our team.
Responsibilities or duties
1. Daily maintenance and repair of water and electricity systems on construction project sites and company premises to maintain uninterrupted supply or electricity and water.
2. Guide, plan, allocate and supervise the daily works of duty electricians on construction project sites and company premises.
3. Plan and budget material purchases for sporadic renovation projects on construction project sites and company premises.
4. Assist Chinese engineers with their daily works.
5. Independently management the company's ongoing hydropower construction projects.
6. Skills training for local hydro-power construction team.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
1. Must possess a solid foundation in electrical engineering theory and strong skills in water and electricity maintenance and installation processes.
2. Must possess strong safety awareness and the ability to anticipate and identify potential equipment hazards.
3. Must possess proficient experience in repairing switch circuits and the ability to handle unexpected breakdowns and malfunctions.
4. Must possess a high sense of responsibility, with a team spirit and a willingness to overcome challenges.
5. Familiar with the basic principles for the maintenance, repair, safe operation, and troubleshooting abilities of generators, photovoltaic, water heaters, transformers, water pumps, and other related water and electricity equipment.
6. Must possess the ability to quickly learn new processes and construction standards, be able to identify one's own shortcomings in work, and have a positive attitude.
7. Able to independently create construction plans for hydropower projects, familiar with hydropower materials, understand the local material market in Zambia, and develop economically reasonable purchase plans.
8. Familiar with the various steps, nodes, and relevant standards of hydropower construction projects.
9. Able to develop a reasonable skills training plan and effectively implement it based on the skills of the existing hydropower construction team.
10. Able to develop reasonable management plans based on the available team and effectively implement them in work.
11. Must possess basic computer software operating skills such as MS Office Suite and able to understand CAD water and electricity construction drawings and electrical schematics.
Experience needed
At least six (06) years’ work experience in construction engineering installation, maintenance, and management of water and electricity systems or equivalent assistant engineers. Work experience must include experience in supervision of water and electricity maintenance work in residential areas, enterprise units, and factories.
Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)
Willing to reside within the company yard and any other construction sites during projects. Must be a resident of Ndola or willing to re-locate. Assessments and interviews shall be conducted in-person at our Sakania Office in Ndola.
