Assistant Keepers of History
Type of Employment: Permanent and Professional
Location: Lusaka National Museum and Chomsa Museum and Craft Center
Job Purpose
To assist and facilitate planning for conducting of research, collection acquisitions, collection documentation, curational services, exhibition mounkups, inventory, publication and de-accession in order to enhance preservation dissemination of knowledge.
Main Daties
Facilitating research, collections acquisition, collection documentation, curational services, mounting of exhibitions, publications and storage of collections.
Restricted timely preliminary acquisition of relevant new collections for study and preservation for posterity.
Requiring periodically publishing for public engagement, awareness and education.
Facilitating efficient curation of collections, monitoring of environmental conditions and care of collections for posterity.
Reflecting economic documentation, compliance to acceptable documentation system for easy retrieval, identification, and security of collections.
Facilitating uncertainty of inventory of collections and de-accessing process of collects/specimen that are used condition.
Undertake regular inspection of collections in the storeroom and galleries.
Undertake research publications and public educational presentations.
Qualifications
Grade 12 Full School Certificate of its equivalent.
No. In History of its equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the cultural sector or research organization.
