Background

We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused, and passionate Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the Grind.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers warmly and provide a friendly, professional experience.
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Offer product recommendations and answer customer questions about menu items.
  • Handle customer requests, concerns, and feedback professionally.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, specialty beverages, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality of all beverages served.
  • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
  • Maintain proper food safety and hygiene standards during beverage preparation.
  • Assist with the preparation of light food items when required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, dining areas, and service counters.
  • Restock supplies and ensure products are displayed appropriately.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor equipment functionality and promptly report maintenance needs.
  • Support stock counts and inventory management activities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate or training in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Services, Catering, Tourism, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Barista, Cashier, Waiter/Waitress, or in a customer service role is an advantage.
  • Experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
