About the Role: Bottle Blowing Machine Operator Jobs in Lusaka
Africa’s Gate Zambia, a rapidly expanding manufacturing and services company specializing in water production and food processing, is seeking a dedicated bottle blowing machine operator to join its production team in Lusaka. This opportunity is ideal for individuals committed to maintaining high-quality standards and operational efficiency in PET bottle production.
As a Bottle Blowing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our PET bottle production line. Your role will involve starting, monitoring, adjusting, cleaning, and maintaining the bottle blowing machine to ensure consistent production of superior quality bottles. You will play a key part in meeting production targets while adhering to strict quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the bottle blowing machine efficiently throughout production shifts.
- Start up, monitor, adjust, and shut down the machine following standard operating procedures.
- Monitor heating temperatures, air pressure, mold performance, and bottle quality to ensure optimal output.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate various bottle sizes and preform weights.
- Inspect bottles for defects such as short blows, uneven thickness, black spots, leaks, neck damage, and deformation.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on the machine components including heaters, molds, pneumatic lines, sensors, valves, and compressors.
- Record hourly production output, downtime, rejects, and machine stoppages accurately.
- Adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), hygiene, food safety, and occupational safety procedures.
- Support maintenance personnel during machine repairs and servicing activities.
- Identify and resolve minor machine faults promptly and report major breakdowns immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience operating PET bottle blowing machines is preferred.
- Basic understanding of pneumatic systems, heaters, and production equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot minor machine faults.
