JS HR Consulting Services is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing company in the agricultural sector. Our client is looking for an energetic, results-driven Business Development Officer to help expand their footprint among farmers, agro-dealers, cooperatives, and agribusiness partners.

ROLE PURPOSE

Drive business growth for our client within the agricultural sector by identifying new markets, building strong relationships with farmers and agribusiness stakeholders, and increasing brand visibility and sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the agricultural sector, including farmers, agro-dealers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agro-input suppliers, cooperatives, and other agribusiness stakeholders
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activity within the agric sector
  • Develop and execute business development and sales strategies to grow revenue and market share
  • Represent the company at agricultural trade shows, expos, farmer field days, and industry forums
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and business development reports for management
  • Track and report on the sales pipeline and business development activities
  • Support branding and visibility initiatives, including social media, promotional materials, and farmer engagement events

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate with 3 credits or better
  • Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Prior experience in agric-sector business development or sales is an added advantage
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to travel to farms, agro-dealer outlets, and agribusiness sites as needed
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, social media) for reporting and outreach

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

  • Number of new farmer/agribusiness clients onboarded per month
  • Revenue/sales growth from agric-sector clients, month-on-month
  • Number of qualified leads generated per month from the agric market segment
  • Number of farmer/agribusiness engagements (site visits, field days, expos) per month
  • Number of partnership agreements or MOUs signed with cooperatives, agro-dealers, or agribusinesses per quarter
  • Growth in brand visibility and awareness within farming and agribusiness communities (social media reach, event attendance, referrals)
  • Lead-to-sale conversion rate
