Job Opportunity
A career opportunity has arisen in our organization for the position of CSVC / Agronomy Lead.
Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for the Crop Science and Value Chain (Agronomy) department which provides agronomy and leaf (tobacco) production services to both small scale and commercial growers. The successful applicant will be responsible for direct communication with the company’s customers in all matters related to the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direct instruction of the company, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering the business plan for leaf production. This includes the development and implementation of the plan to secure the production and purchase of compliant contracted volumes.
- Management of Contract Production and marketing through the Integrated Production System.
- Management of stakeholder relationships and compliance.
- Management of and collaborates with Sustainable Tobacco Program and Customer Programs to ensure ESG sustainability targets and specific focus strategies are achieved (STP, GAP, MVR, WASH, ALP etc.)
- Departmental and operational resource management and utilization.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Agro business / Agriculture.
- Not less than 5 years’ experience in a similar management position with a proven Management & Leadership track record with sound Agricultural technical knowledge preferably with sound knowledge of tobacco production & stakeholder engagement.
The Person
The successful candidate must be versatile and possess strong liaison and networking abilities, influencing & demonstrable negotiation skills, communication and reporting skills, problem analysis and solving skills.
The incumbent must have a good track record in Managing an Agro-business, and the ability to relate to a diverse group of people and have business acumen.
The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate necessary skillsets in various Microsoft System Software packages as well as other possible system development and understanding for the multiple reporting, budgeting and general day to day functions of the role.
