Zambia Sugar Plc. is an ABF Sugar Company and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.
The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position in the Business Improvement Department:
This position will be reporting to the Capital Programme Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate project data across systems, including capital tracking, new opportunities, and contract records.
- Compile and analyse data from project teams to monitor project status, performance, and progress.
- Support monthly capital data collation and communicate insights to the Capital Programme Manager.
- Identify and document programme risks and issues using standard tools; assist in mitigation and resolution planning.
- Maintain and update project documentation (plans, schedules, status reports, meeting minutes, and initiation documents).
- Administer project management software and provide user support.
- Respond to ad hoc requests for project-related information.
- Manage low-risk projects as part of professional development.
- Coordinate team meetings, record minutes, and track action items.
- Support the use of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Impact, and Learning (MEIL) tool across projects.
- Assist with travel arrangements for project-related activities.
- Undertake additional administrative assignments as required by the Capital Programme Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full grade 12 Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation, or CAPM desirable but not mandatory)
- Preferably 2 – 4 years of experience in project administration, preferably within capital projects or infrastructure programmes.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects
- Familiarity with capital planning, budgeting, and reporting processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools and SAP (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
