Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter with specialized experience in upholstery, sofa manufacturing, and furniture assembly. The ideal candidate will be proficient in working with wood, fabrics, and various hardware to construct, repair, and finish high-quality furniture pieces from frame to final product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and assemble wooden frames for sofas, chairs, and other furniture.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials accurately.
- Install springs, padding, and webbing to create a solid foundation for upholstery.
- Measure, cut, and fit fabric or leather upholstery to furniture frames, ensuring a smooth, tight finish.
- Assemble ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture, ensuring all parts are correctly fitted and secure.
- Repair and refurbish existing furniture, including re-upholstering and frame fixes.
- Operate and maintain woodworking and upholstery tools and machinery safely.
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, specifically in furniture making and upholstery.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and industrial sewing machines.
- Strong knowledge of wood types, fabrics, and upholstery techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and design plans.
- High attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle materials and finished products.
