The KAIZEN Institute of Zambia Limited (KiZ) was established in 2014 as a public institution registered under Cap 388 of the Laws of Zambia as a company limited by guarantee. The mandate of the Institute is to promote quality and productivity improvement in both private and public enterprises using KAIZEN Philosophy and methodology for business excellence.
The Institute invites suitably qualified Zambians to fill the following vacancy:
POSITION: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Institution/Location: Kaizen Institute – Lusaka
1. JOB PURPOSE
To coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of the Institute and provide strategic direction in order to achieve the objectives of the Institute.
2. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Board, the CEO will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development, implementation and monitoring of Kaizen strategies and policies.
- To provide effective leadership in achievement of KAIZEN mandate as enshrined in the Act and strategic plan.
- To ensure efficient management of financial, material and human resources in order to achieve organizational objectives.
- To ensure effective implementation of performance management systems in order to enhance productivity.
- To discharge duties as an ex-officio member of the Board.
- To effectively implement decisions of the Board.
- To proactively lead in resource mobilization.
- To develop and implement effective management systems, standards and procedures.
- To formulate and implement KAIZEN advocacy and educational programmes.
- To provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance Kaizen Institute’s vision and mission.
3. QUALIFICATIONS
a) Minimum Primary/Secondary Education
Full Form V or Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
b) Minimum Vocational/Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Production Management or equivalent.
Possession of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
c) Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar senior management position.
4. ABILITIES, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to write analytical and technical reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Innovative.
- Team builder, player and leader.
