The Role
We Effect is seeking a Circular Economy Project Coordinator (Expert) to lead implementation of its portfolio within a multi-partner programme advancing circular economy development in Zambia. The role focuses on MSME development, civil society engagement, innovation support, and knowledge dissemination, while ensuring strong coordination with partners, government, and the private sector.
Responsibilities or duties
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate delivery of We Effect-led project activities within the circular economy programme
- Lead MSME support initiatives, including green business development, value chain engagement, and market linkages
- Facilitate technical assistance and capacity building for enterprises, CSOs, and private sector actors.
- Manage a circular economy research and innovation grants programme.
- Oversee development of knowledge products, awareness campaigns, and demonstration projects
- Strengthen partnerships with government, private sector, academia, and civil society
- Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and learning across the project
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in applied sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Environmental Management, or related field
Experience needed
- At least 7 years’ relevant experience in project management, private sector development, or circular/green economy
- Proven experience supporting MSMEs, value chains, or enterprise development programmes
- Strong understanding of sustainability, ESG, or green finance
- Experience working with multi-stakeholder programmes and partnerships
Skills
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and report writing
- Strategic and results-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively
