Disability-inclusive civic and voter education
COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANT
Company: Zambia Federation of Disability Organisations (ZAFOD)
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Duration: Two (2) months
Type of Engagement: Consultancy
ZAFOD is seeking a qualified and creative individual to serve as a Communications Consultant for a disability-inclusive civic and voter education project targeting youths with disabilities.
About the Role
The Communications Consultant will support the implementation of civic and voter education activities by developing communication materials, creating engaging content, and documenting project activities. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring that project messages effectively reach youths with disabilities and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other communication materials for the project.
- Create engaging and accessible content for social media and digital platforms.
- Develop messaging and awareness content related to civic and voter education for youths with disabilities.
- Capture photographs and videos during project activities, sensitization meetings, and community engagements.
- Produce short stories, highlights, and updates from project activities for dissemination on various platforms.
- Support the promotion and visibility of project activities through digital communication channels.
- Ensure all communication materials are professional, accurate, and aligned with project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in content creation, graphic design, and social media management.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other graphic design applications.
- Good photography and videography skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with civil society organizations, disability inclusion, or voter education projects will be an added advantage.
