CONTINENTAL CHEF
Department: Culinary
Job Summary
The Continental Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality continental dishes while maintaining excellent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of continental dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Prepare ingredients and organise mise en place before service.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Monitor food quality and freshness.
- Minimise food wastage and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with menu planning and development where required.
- Follow food-safety regulations and resort policies.
- Support junior kitchen staff through guidance and training.
Ideal Candidate
- Professional culinary qualification is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Continental Chef or in a similar culinary role.
- Strong knowledge of continental cuisine and food preparation techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy hospitality environment.
