Background
The Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR) is Zambia’s leading public policy think tank, dedicated to producing high-quality, evidence-based research that informs national development. ZIPAR provides a platform for dialogue, capacity building, and policy analysis and research, contributing to Zambia’s socio-economic transformation and regional integration. The Institute is seeking a dynamic, and experienced Corporate Communication and Knowledge Manager.

Job Purpose:
The Corporate Communication and Knowledge Manager will provide strategic leadership in shaping ZIPAR’s public image, disseminating research outputs, and engaging stakeholders at national, regional, and international levels. The role ensures that ZIPAR’s evidence-based policy work is communicated effectively to influence public debate and policymaking.
Key Responsibilities
1.Corporate Communications:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of ZIPAR’s corporate communication strategies aligned with its mission;
- Produce and disseminate knowledge products, including newsletters, press releases, policy briefs, and digital content;
- Develop and maintain a sharp, and consistent brand identity for ZIPAR across all communication channels;
- Support leadership with strategic messaging, including speeches, presentations, and talking points;
- Supervise the management of the Institute’s, social media platforms, and other digital communication tools.
- Act as a focal point person for media relations;
Internal Communications
- Strengthen internal communication systems to enhance staff engagement and information flow
- Plan and coordinate internal announcements, circulars, events, and corporate campaigns
Knowledge Management
- Plan for and supervise the development of innovative knowledge management tools;
- Ensure adequate capture, storage and dissemination of institutional events, features, achievements, experiences and lessons learned;
- Maintain repositories of all the knowledge products of ZIPAR, on-site and off-site
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting through effective data and knowledge management
Content Development & Reporting
- Lead the development of ZIPAR’s digital presence, including website, social media, and multimedia content;
- Oversee the development of corporate publications, including annual reports, corporate profile, service charter, and policies;
- Edit and quality-assure content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency; and
- Coordinate with technical teams to translate complex information into accessible communication materials for key users.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate communication with stakeholders including government, donors, academia, and international partners.
- Coordinate corporate events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing forums ensuring protocol is observed at all time.
- Manage sensitive communications and safeguard ZIPAR’s reputation during high-profile debates or crises.
- Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of institutional achievements and impact.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Track communications impact, media coverage, and stakeholder engagement metrics.
- Produce regular progress reports to Management

Qualifications and work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Information Science, Public Relations, or a related field (certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
- Master’s degree is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, knowledge management, or related roles
- A paid-up member of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC)
