About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced, commercially minded and relationship-driven Corporate Sales Executive to lead high-value commercial relationships across Zambia's corporate and banking sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing enterprise-level opportunities, building strong relationships with banks and corporate clients, managing the sales pipeline and driving revenue growth through strategic business development.
This is a senior sales role requiring an individual who is comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers within banks, corporates and other enterprise organisations. The Corporate Sales Executive will be expected to build long-term commercial relationships, understand client needs, identify opportunities for growth and consistently convert relationships into business.
The role will also contribute to strengthening the commercial team's approach to relationship and pipeline management as the business scales, bringing greater structure, discipline and accountability to the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage high-value relationships with corporate clients, banks and other enterprise customers.
- Identify, prospect and pursue new business opportunities within the corporate and banking sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders.
- Develop a clear understanding of client businesses, commercial needs and growth opportunities.
- Lead the full corporate sales cycle from prospecting and relationship development through to negotiation, closing and account growth.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline of qualified corporate and enterprise opportunities.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, presentations and commercial solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Negotiate commercial terms and agreements within approved company guidelines.
- Drive the conversion of high-value prospects into active corporate accounts.
- Develop account plans for key corporate and banking relationships and identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
- Maintain regular engagement with existing clients to strengthen relationships and identify additional business opportunities.
- Monitor client satisfaction and ensure issues are followed through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client relationships, opportunities, activities and sales pipeline.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates and commercial reports to management.
- Track sales performance against agreed targets and take corrective action where required.
- Develop a structured approach to relationship management and pipeline tracking across the commercial team.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure client requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
- Provide market intelligence on corporate, banking and enterprise sales opportunities, competitor activity and market trends.
- Identify emerging sectors, organisations and commercial opportunities that could support business growth.
- Represent the company professionally at corporate meetings, industry events and other relevant business forums.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of corporate sales processes, tools and reporting systems.
- Support the commercial team in establishing disciplined approaches to lead generation, relationship management and pipeline conversion.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive corporate and commercial information.
- Perform any other sales, business development or relationship management duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate sales, B2B sales, business development or a related commercial role.
- Direct experience managing relationships with banks, corporates or enterprise-level clients.
- Proven track record of developing and converting high-value commercial opportunities.
- Strong understanding of corporate and enterprise sales processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with senior corporate clients.
- Strong commercial negotiation and deal-closing skills.
- Experience developing and managing a structured sales pipeline.
- Strong understanding of account management, client retention and business development.
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand client needs and identify commercial opportunities.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-value accounts and opportunities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or similar business productivity tools.
- Ability to prepare professional proposals, presentations, reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider commercial team.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong results orientation and ability to consistently work towards ambitious commercial targets.
Compensation
The incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
