JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
This function is responsible for supporting the Credit Department’s management of information pertaining to the Bank’s lending activities and involves providing support to facilitate the creation of pertinent policies and evaluating the credit portfolio’s performance, composition, concentrations, impairments, etc.
Effectively handle the Bank’s regulatory reporting obligations to entities like the Bank of Zambia, other regulatory bodies, External Auditors, and international institutions. This collaborative effort is conducted in coordination with the Finance Department.
Provide analyzed and well-structured portfolio information promptly to both management and business units. The information should be accurate, concise, and appropriately designed to facilitate informed decision-making.

Under the supervision of the Credit Portfolio Senior Specialist, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the alignment and thorough review of the loan book within agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLA) to guarantee precise reporting.
• Skillfully prepare and meet stringent deadlines for the submission of prudential returns for the Bank.
• Ensuring compliance and accuracy of expected credit losses model in respect of Banking regulations and IFRS requirements.
• Maintaining expected loan loss model data by regularly updating the loan portfolio data, historical charge off data, internal decisions data and external economic factors (recalibration of model)
• Prepare credit portfolio reports that are directed to both the Board Risk Committee and the main Board.
• Prepare tracking reports that meticulously monitor Underwriting Standards against corresponding Risk Triggers and performance indicators.
• Conduct comprehensive performance reviews of Special Assets Management, including detailed analyses of their impact on the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, as well as Asset quality assessments like Recoveries, turnarounds, and impairments.
• Develop trackers that gauge performance against established strategic goals and agreed budget lines.
• Efficiently interact with internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries related to provisions on the portfolio.
• Undertake any additional Management Information System (MIS) tasks that may arise periodically.
• Diligently prepare the credit input for the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and stress testing report, ensuring the bank’s capital strength and resilience under various adverse scenarios.
• Prepare any ad-hoc reporting obligations as assigned by the supervisor.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management.

Requirements
Qualifications And Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate with Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting or equivalent professional qualification such as Full ACCA, CIMA or ZICA
• At least four (4) years professional work experience including portfolio monitoring & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, sensitivity analysis etc.
• Financial sector experience will be an added advantage
• Awareness of relevant frameworks e.g legislation and accounting relevant to the role.
• Should possess high skills and experience in Business Intelligence Platforms (OBIEE) and Database SQL scripting
