JOB DETAILS:
CURE has an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist looking to use their expertise to impact the lives of children living with treatable disabilities across the globe. We are seeking a highly qualified physiotherapist to serve on a one-year contract as a Director of Physiotherapy. In this role, you would be responsible for overseeing and developing the physiotherapy services across CURE’s network of eight pediatric hospitals. You will have the opportunity to travel to each CURE hospital located in Africa to evaluate the current state of the physiotherapy services and make evidence-based recommendations for future improvement and growth opportunities. Essential Duties:
1. Clarify and/or develop practices and policies related to the physiotherapy services provided across the CURE network to ensure a high-level of patient care.
2. Lead staff development opportunities and facilitates learning and development to advance subspecialty expertise.
3. Collaborate with medical directors to review the existing processes for hiring, training and developing physical therapy staff and make recommendations for improvement.
4. Conduct monthly Zoom calls with all physio providers on the network as part of a Continuing Medical Education program.
5. Direct patient care and supervision of care including evaluation, assessment and planning to ensure proper case management.
6. Provide therapy to patients while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
7. Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the current state of the physiotherapy services at each CURE hospital and make recommendations for standardizing and improving equipment, protocols, and training.
8. Provide written reports to the executive leadership team following each hospital visit detailing the comprehensive analysis and suggested recommendations.

Education/Experience Requirements:
1. Graduate of an accredited physical therapy/physiotherapy program
2. 10+ years of experience as a practicing therapist
3. Must be willing to travel approximately 50% of the year
4. Experience in a teaching institution
5. Pediatric specialist

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Fluency in English is required.
2. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across cultures and language barriers
3. Strong training and facilitation skills.
4. Strong computer literacy, specifically Excel and Word.
5. Advanced skills in data analysis, presentation and reporting writing
6. Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
7. Strong research, analytical, and budget development skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well collaboratively, as well as independently, in a team environment.

NOTE: This is a one-year contracted position that requires significant travel across Africa. The ideal candidate would be located in/willing to relocate to Africa for this position; however, we may be willing to consider other options for the right candidate. Though it is advertised to have the individual located in Zambia, we are willing to entertain the possibility of relocation to any city in which we currently operate a CURE hospital.
