JOB DETAILS:

To create precise mechanical designs and technical drawings for mining equipment and infrastructure using CAD systems, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design & Drafting:
• Develop detailed mechanical designs for mining equipment and infrastructure
• Prepare comprehensive engineering drawings including plans, sections, and specifications
• Generate material take-off lists and shop detail drawings
• Create multiple design variations for engineering review

Technical Execution:
• Utilize AutoCAD and other CAD systems for all drafting requirements
• Electronically store and manage drawing files and revisions
• Modify existing models/drawings based on engineering changes
• Resolve design problems through technical analysis

Field Work:
• Conduct surface and underground site measurements (including height measurements)
• Verify field conditions against design specifications

Quality Assurance:
• Review and analyze technical specifications for accuracy
• Ensure all drawings specify correct dimensions, materials, and procedures
• Maintain drawing version control and documentation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certification:
✓ Grade 12 Certificate (ZAQA verified)
✓ Certificate in Draughting (ZAQA verified)

Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
• Competency in other CAD software (advantageous)
• Strong computer literacy

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years drafting experience in mining/industrial environment
• Experience with mechanical equipment design
