Background

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and agribusiness company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region. It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and teaching practical lessons that are tailored to meet all aspects of driving.
  • Providing instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle, and on-road regulations.
  • Documenting and reporting on driver’s progress.
  • Reporting all accidents and incidents to the logistics and workshop manager.
  • Maintaining all Driver training folders and records on current drivers.
  • Working with the logistics manager in selection and hiring new drivers.
  • Conducting weekly tool box meeting with the drivers.
  • Post-accident behind-the-wheel re-training.
  • Maintaining updated driver training manuals and material related to transportation.
  • Designing and implementing safety meetings under direction of Environmental safety manager and logistics Manager.
  • Driving routes/field trips as needed.
  • Performing all other duties assigned by the logistics Manager.
  • Providing daily supervision of assigned drivers and monitors to ensure proper and consistent performance of duties.

Qualifications

  • Grade GCE/12 certificate
  • At least a holder of a basic Driving License
  • Valid Driving License for the level at which you will be teaching.
  • Valid Driving Instructor's License or Certification.
  • Proven experience as a driving instructor.
  • Clear driving record.

Skills

  • Good communication, customer service, and judgment skills.
  • Excellent hearing and vision and in good physical condition.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and adapt to changes in driving conditions
