The position holder will be responsible to drive company vehicles and undertake driver-based assignments necessary for company operations including but not limited to transporting materials, equipment, students, and staff to and from specified locations. The driver should ensure that all duties are carried out in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport Children, employees, goods, and equipment to and from loading points and drop-off points.
- Onsite periodical inspections of vehicles daily, and weekly as required.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid motor insurance, road-worthiness certificates, and motor vehicle tax at all times.
- Schedule regular vehicle service appointments and report any issues.
- Map out driving routes ahead of time for out-of-town and cross-border travel.
- Undertake thorough preventive maintenance procedures and pre and post-trip motor vehicle inspection to ensure the vehicle is in good operating condition.
- Demonstrate prescribed and proper student management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly atmosphere on the bus.
- Issue monthly reports on the status of functional components of motor vehicles such as tires, braking system, vehicle body, etc. to the Line Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Clean driver’s License – Class CE category P, PSV
- Trustworthy and able to accommodate team member
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- 2 years and above work experience in a busy organization
- Being familiar with Zambian and SADC region routes will be added advantage
