Duty Station: Lusaka
Role Overview
The Early Childhood Teacher will provide quality foundational education that supports the overall growth and development of young learners. The position requires creating a secure, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment in line with national curriculum standards.
Main Duties
- Design and deliver age-appropriate learning activities consistent with the Competency-Based Curriculum.
- Utilize play-based and activity-centered teaching approaches to enhance learner engagement.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and evaluate learner development through continuous assessment methods.
- Maintain up-to-date learner records and communicate progress with parents/guardians.
- Integrate early literacy, numeracy, social interaction skills, and life skills into daily routines.
- Ensure proper supervision, classroom safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Contribute to school meetings, training workshops, and co-curricular initiatives.
- Maintain high professional standards in line with TCZ guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related qualification (minimum requirement).
- Valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Practicing Certificate.
- Knowledge of the Competency-Based Curriculum framework.
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management abilities.
- Genuine passion for nurturing and teaching young children.
- Ability to begin work immediately will be an added advantage.
