Responsibilities or duties
Key responsibilities
- Must have knowledge of Electrical control wiring
- Knowledge of general electrical maintenance
- To be fully responsible on the machine, attending breakdown, upgrading or modification
- Responsible to alert the Maintenance Supervisor, or the Manager of any unusual occurrence and /or damage that have taken place or may occur.
- To learn and be competent to troubleshoot PLC systems, Drives,
- To be proactive, able to troubleshoot problems to prevent lose time or downtime.
- Repairs and maintains machinery such as motors, pumps, and fans.
- Do daily electrical maintenance and update the checklist.
- Repairs and maintain mechanical equipment, including heating and air conditioning. Diagnoses problems. Disassembles units, cleans, lubricates, repairs, and replaces parts.
- To ensure spare parts are available and to highlight to the spare parts technicians on the requirements.
- Strictly to follow 5S standards, GMP and to maintain housekeeping at line and workshop.
- Isolate, troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.
- Maintain and repair the electrical components of heavy equipment; test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Plan the layout and wiring of new or remodeled installations.
- Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, participate in the electrical maintenance and operations of a plant related to maintenance; clean, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties
- Will apply the maintenance policy and procedure correctly.
- Will apply the correct quality and HSE standards.
- Maintain all tooling (inclusive pickups) under their control and good conditions
- Attend toolbox talks in cooperation with team.
- Will do shift work as and when required
- Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by manager from time to time.
- To ensure the production machines and equipment operate in smooth without major stoppage
- Knowledge in refrigeration maintenance will be an added advantage.
- To be hands on, to work as a team and to help other Maintenance on Facilities, Boilers or Chillers, compressor, as when as needed
- To ensure SOP are completed and to follow as what written in SOP.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Experience:
- Craft Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid practicing license/registration (where applicable).
- Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and wiring standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
