KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineer, Operational Technology is responsible for providing engineering support to ensure safe, efficient and profitable smelter operations. This role involves working closely with other engineers, managers and site personnel to design, install and commission instrumentation systems.
- compliance – Ensuring that Operational Technology Systems comply with Industry Standards, Regulations, and Safety Requirements.
- System design, and implementation – designing, implementing and optimizing operational technology systems relating to siemens PCS7 Process Control System [ Win CC Scada, DCS / PLC, and other interfaced equipment (anode strapping, anode scanning, OSI PI database, semtech, weighing.
- ICT Integration – ensuring seamless data flow, and interoperability between Operation technology platform and ICT systems.
- Cyber-Security/ Group ICT Security – implementing, and maintaining cyber-Security measures, and systems for the operational technology systems, aligning with group ICT security policies, and procedures.
- Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Fault Analysis – Managing, upgrading, maintaining operational technology hardware, and software i.e software applications, license management.
- Innovation, Continues Improvement – researching, implementing new approved technology, and automation solutions, that improves the system Performance, and efficiency.
- Documentation – creating, maintaining operational technology documentation i.e network topology, network drawings, configuration data.
- Communication, and Collaboration – Ensure effective communication with Management, Superintendents, Supervisors, Technical team, Stakeholders, Vendors, Contractors. Provide effective support, and assistance to Operations, Engineering, Technical and Vendors / Contractors.
- Safe Working / Operating Procedures, and Risk Assessments – Compile, Implement, Review all Operational Technology Safe Working / Operating Procedures.
- Project Management – Participating in Projects, Managing Projects Scopes relating to Smelter Operational Technology, and keep track of Hardware Life-Cycle, and Planning of Life-Cycle Replacement.
- Team Player – Adhering to FQM Way, Standards, and Procedures. Comply to all KMP Health and Safety Requirements.
- Cost, Equipment Management of the Operational Technology
- Manage Costs, and Align with the Operational Business Plan.
- Manage Equipment and Hardware Spares, and Stock Levels.
- Prepare, and Estimates Materials, Tools, Consumables, and Spare Parts that is necessary to execute projects internally.
- Adherence to the Government / FQM Skills Development and Knowledge Transfer – ensure an active participation in the personal development plans of local staff.
- Any Other duties, as per instruction from direct line manager or Superintendent, and the Senior Specialists.

Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology or relevant field.

Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Information Technology, covering following operational technology applications:

- Virtual Machine Platforms – VMWare Administration / Configuration
- Server, and Workstation Equipment, Clients Stations – ESXi, Datacenter, WinCC
- Networking, and Switch Equipment-Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus, Firewalls
- Knowledge of ISA 95, IEC62443
- Software Programming – C Script, C++, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript
- SQL Database Applications
- LIMS Applications, Mine Software Application
- Avigilon Camera Systems;
- Kenwood Radio Systems;
- Mobile Equipment Camera Systems ;
- CTRACK Mobile System;
- Siemens PCS7 control system, or other PLC systems within operational technology platform
