JOB DETAILS:

To optimize plant equipment reliability and performance through strategic maintenance planning, cost-effective solutions, and technical leadership, ensuring sustained operational excellence and safety compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Equipment Reliability Management:
• Maintain >85% equipment availability through preventive maintenance strategies
• Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical equipment failures

Safety & Compliance:
• Enforce full compliance with MHSA and company safety standards
• Lead safety audits and risk assessments for mechanical systems
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Monitor and optimize maintenance budgets (spares, labor, services)
• Develop cost-saving initiatives without compromising reliability
• Prepare CAPEX proposals for equipment upgrades

Technical Leadership:
• Mentor tradesmen through hands-on technical guidance
• Develop and deliver technical training programs
• Provide expert recommendations to senior management

Project Execution:
• Lead plant improvement projects to enhance performance
• Manage contractor work quality and compliance
• Prepare detailed technical reports and progress updates

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certification:
✓ Grade 12 Certificate (ZAQA verified)
✓ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ZAQA verified)
✓ Current EIZ/ERB membership

Technical Competencies:
• Equipment reliability optimization
• Maintenance cost control
• Mechanical system troubleshooting

Experience:
• 3+ years in plant maintenance engineering
• Experience in heavy industrial environments
• Underground mining exposure (advantageous)
