Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Safeguards Officer to ensure that all company projects and operations comply with environmental regulations and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in minimizing environmental impact and promoting responsible resource management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and standards
  • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and environmental audits
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs)
  • Monitor project activities to ensure adherence to environmental safeguards
  • Identify potential environmental risks and recommend mitigation measures
  • Prepare environmental reports and documentation for regulatory authorities
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices within the organization
  • Liaise with government agencies, stakeholders, and communities on environmental matters
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, and resource utilization
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Natural Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2–3 years relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and audits
  • Good report writing and data analysis skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
