PSC RANCHING Limited is a Zambian owned farm and is looking for an experienced Manager for their operation in Mumbwa district.

The Farm manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of all feedlot and breeding herd cattle ensuring that all the set targets and goals are realised within recommended time frame. He/she will be required and expected to keep both sections of the cattle herd performance at higher levels in terms of livestock performance as well as keeping the infrastructure and machinery in good state as required by the company management

Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for the day-to-day Management of the feedlot/background section which includes receiving, induction, care and production and final dispersal of all finished cattle to the clients within the recommended period of 90 days with optimum results.
• Keep all required records relating to cattle/feedlot – background in an organised manner for Management accessibility at time.
• Maintain all necessary Company records and provide general admin function to the section.
• To conduct all duties that ensures the Feedlot runs at its maximum potential as directed by Management such as timely feeding schedule, timely vaccination and deworming of new entrant’s stock.
• Give section monthly and quarterly report for all activities and incidences to the relevant authority as directed.
• Fully execute daily activities plan to manage a work force of at least 20 employees
• Ensuring that general security as well as biosecurity are maintained at a high standard throughout the section.

Requirements:

• The person should be a holder of the certificate or diploma in general agriculture or animal husbandry from a recognised Zambian institution, degree level in the same field will be an added advantage.
• At list 5 years proven experience as feedlot manager or feedlot assistant manager with good knowledge about how to run the feedlot and back grounding together.
• Must be married and willing to relocate with the family
• Must be computer literate
• Should poses good skill and knowledge about feedlot ration formulation,
